Heathcote Botanical Gardens

Heathcote Botanical Gardens consists of an assortment of specialty gardens including a Japanese Garden, Reflection Garden, Herb Garden, Rainforest Display, Native Plants Garden and a Palm & Cycad Walk. These areas convey an atmosphere of individual garden rooms. Through this type of garden design, you will sense the intimacy of this unique botanical garden. Gracing the areas in between these specialty gardens are borders of flowering shrubs, bulbs, trees, vines and other assorted herbaceous plants. Niches found throughout the garden provide varied microclimates, which allows the use of a wide variety of plants ranging from those found in Mediterranean climates to the Tropics.

Veterans Day Remember Our Heros

Instead of an Adventure Photography Photowalk, this was more of a photographic challenge to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces. We took a photo of what symbolizes Veterans Day to us. This allowed all the members to participate wherever they may be! Some went to a ceremony, parade, or Navy Seal Museum to find inspiration.

Tuesday

4th Annual Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk TWO!

This will be a bit different we had a “FASHION PHOTO WALK” with a group of models to work with us to be featured in these photographs posing in various outfits around all the historic buildings. With all the “Model Photographer Photo Groups” in the area I think it will be fun to have both the photographer and model featured in the photographs from this walk. You can either participate in this “FASHION PHOTO WALK” or go off and shoot just the historic architecture and other various sites in the vicinity. We started at the gallery in the Downtown Historic District. The address is “Gallery of Hope.org” 2036 14th Ave. STE 101 Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Designed for those who appreciate the tranquil comforts of natural surroundings, 43% of Copperleaf’s acreage is devoted to wetlands, pristine nature preserves and glistening lakes. Arnolds Butterfly Haven

Arnold’s Butterfly Haven is an extension of the animal conservation and rehabilitation efforts of Arnold’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, located just north of Okeechobee, FL. Arnold’s Butterfly Haven is a half-acre, free-ranging butterfly garden in the shape of the Zebra Longwing, Florida’s State Butterfly. It contains over 2000 native larval and nectar plants, specific to indigenous butterfly species.

Unlike typical “staged and caged” gardens, in which butterflies are not only artificially introduced and contained, Arnold’s Butterfly Haven is an open-range, naturally occurring garden in motion, to which nearly 60 species of area butterflies are naturally attracted. There are also other exhibits of our wildlife center, including Florida panthers.
