Full Cold Moon rising in Jupiter Florida

Twelve members of Adventure Photography and Photo Walks photography group took a drive down to Jupiter, Fl to photograph the December 2014 “Full Cold Moon” rising behind the Jupiter Lighthouse. Moonrise was at 5:06 PM and Sunset was 5:27 PM. For a good vantage point we photographed from Sawfish Bay Park 1133 North Alternate A1A, Jupiter, FL 33458.

Four Arts Botanical Gardens & Royal Park Bridge

The Adventure Photography and Photo Walks Group traveled to Palm Beach for a two part photo tour. We started the day at The Society of the Four Arts Botanical and Sculpture Gardens. Majestic sculptures are tucked away throughout the gardens which makes it possible for the group to wander the gardens and focus on what speaks to them. After the gardens closed, the group walked over to photograph the Royal Park Bridge at sunset and twilight. The lights on the bridge were pink which added beautiful color to the bridge during twilight.

50th Annual St. Helen's Harvest Festival

The Adventure Photography and Photo Walks Group spent an evening photographing the colorful rides at the The St. Helen’s Harvest Festival. It was great fun playing with long exposures to blur the action. This community event held annually at Vero Beach Sports Village provides an opportunity for the entire parish and community to work together and to get to know one another.

Fountain Shoot in Jupiter

The Adventure Photography and Photo Walks Group photographed the fountains outside of "Frenchman's Reserve" in Jupiter. We waited until twilight when the fountain lights turned on to photograph the numerous fountains outside the development. It was good to practice with shutter speeds and the flowing water.

Cracker Boy Boat Yard

Cracker Boy Boat Yard is a working boat yard in Fort Pierce. Hidden in the back of the yard are "shipwrecked" boats with colorful peeling paint and rusty metals. The rest of the yard houses newer boats with some of them being restored. It is a great place to be creative with our cameras!

Old Florida-McKee Botanical Gardens

The Adventure Photography and Photo Walks Group visited McKee Botanical Gardens in Vero Beach. The water lilies are in full bloom at this time of year and the gardens have an exquisite collection of the flowers. Listed in the National Registry of Historic Places, McKee was founded by Waldo Sexton in 1922 by the McKee-Sexton Land Company. Once boasting over 100,000 visitors per year as a tourist attraction, today the gardens are primarily used for events, exhibits, education and the enjoyment of nature enthusiasts. With the sun shining bright, the group members were challenged to find blooms in shade. Some even tried to to photograph objects other than flowers.
