Florida Flywheelers 21st Annual Antique Engine and Tractor Show

It is always fun to step back in time and visit the Florida Flywheelers Engine and Tractor Show. The Florida Fly Wheelers Antique Engine Club is a non-profit organization founded in 1972 to promote interest in restoring, preserving and exhibiting antique internal combustion engines, steam engines, antique tractors and autos and other labor saving devices from the by-gone years. Fly Wheeler Park includes a tractor pull track, club and member buildings which house displays, collections and many large engines. The Florida Fly Wheelers are able to educate its members and the general public of the historical, technical, and social contributions and impact of these items of the past. The main goal is to preserve a part of our heritage for all generations and historians to enjoy. The Old Time Village features Cabins, Barns, Church, Print Shop, Sawmill, Garages, Blacksmith, Schoolhouse, Hardware Store, Woodworking Shop, Stables, Slaughterhouse, Jail, Firehouse, Gas Stations, Grape Harvester Building, Saloon, Tractor Dealerships & more!

Bird Photography at Viera Wetlands

There are few places that have a higher number of species readily accessible to the camera than Viera Wetlands. This is a great place for both the beginner and expert nature photographer to get excellent images of many species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. An early start is needed in order to catch the best light. We had a misty fog during sunrise which made for some interesting photos! The photographers definitely took advantage of the moody ambiance it created.

Thursday

1st Annual Chalk Art Festival at the Indian River Mall

This was the first ever chalk art festival in Indian River County. Using only pastel chalks (which are environmentally friendly),the parking lot was transformed into living art. Watching art come to life is considered a performance art and has an immediacy that gives every piece a uniqueness that can never be truly duplicated. The light and surface elements are constantly changing, making the art a constantly evolving entity. Images can be of anything, ranging from reproductions of great masterpieces to photos to 3D animorphic art that tricks the viewer into seeing something different than what is actually on the street.

Saturday

5th Annual Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk

The Adventure Photography Group participated in the Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk. We met at Sexton Plaza and either participated in the "Fashion Photo Walk" or went off to shoot the historic architecture and other various sites in the vicinity. We had a few models to work with posing in various outfits around the beach area and some of the other historic sites. The photographers and models all had a great time creating and being featured in the photographs from this walk.

"With the weather threatening we managed to have a full two hours to shoot in an area where there is opportunity around every corner if you look. The new faces were great to see." -Nancy True
